Illustrated Videos

‘Moonland’ experiments with ideas of place and narrative through its imagined surreal landscapes and figures. With a range of influences, from Biblical stories to Southern Gothic to video games, I play on the similarities between lunar and desert landscapes in their isolating yet cosmic qualities. The central ‘pilgrim’ character ties these influences together, drawing the viewer into a series of interconnected images which visualise experiences of anxiety and disassociation. 

Inspired by a song by The Smashing Pumpkins and my interest in depicting surreal, isolating landscapes.
